Let the Austrian Adventure begin…

It’s time for Team Bernard’s 11th European end-to-end.

Bernard the bike is raring to go, Gloria Google is always willing to assist and even Guillaume the Grumpy Gallic Guide (aka my Garmin) seems grudgingly enthusiastic.

As for me, I’m hoping my legs will be in peak condition (rather than knackered) after pedalling 493 km / 306 miles in a week as part of the French Cycling Federation’s annual Semaine Fédérale (strongly recommend if you’re not familiar):

For our Austrian adventure, Team Bernard will be supported by Jon in the motorhome, aka Team Midge:

And this is how we’re planning to do it – west to east, starting tomorrow on the Swiss border near Feldkirch, and all being well finishing on 27 August at the Slovakian border south of Bratislava:

Do join us for the ride – tschüss!

  3. It was a pleasure to be part of your warm up/conditioning team last week. Good to see that Team Midge is amply provided with the appropriate lubricant to assist Jon’s part in the adventure. Bon voyage or should it be gute reise
