In the best tradition of the Guardian newspaper, it’s been pointed out that there were some errors/omissions in earlier posts that I need to correct/clarify:
First, in an unsurprising development, it turns out I was wrong about the rally car on Day 5:

Apparently it was not a Ford Cortina but an Opel Kadett (I’m guessing the Mark D, below). Thank you Richard S for putting me right.

Secondly, re the reference to Old Timers on this Einbeck sign:

Nikki suggested that it might refer to vintage vehicles, and judging by this poster I saw a couple of days ago, it would seem she was right:

And finally, Nikki was also able to shed light on this sign that I saw just outside Göttingen;

Apparently it’s likely not a newt but a salamander. Thanks Nikki for that and this additional information:
