Destination Deutschland 🇩🇪

It’s that time of year again: the birds are getting frisky, the barbecues are coming out and Bernard is itching for his next adventure.

He doesn’t have much longer to wait.

On 31 May, Team Bernard (that’s Bernard the bike, Guillaume the Garmin, and me, with occasional support from Gloria Google) will set off on our 10th European end-to-end: a journey through Germany. If you’ve missed our earlier adventures, you can catch up via my other blogs.

It’ll take us 2 days on Eurostar and Deutsch Bahn to get from home in southern England, via Brussels, Köln and Hamburg, to Klanxbüll in the far north of Germany.

On 2 June, after a quick trip to the Danish border, we’ll start pedalling south and all being well should reach the Austrian border south of Oberstdorf 20 days later.

This time, we’re going entirely alone. If you’d like to follow our progress, just subscribe to my website for daily updates – I’d love to have you with me. And if you live near the route, maybe we can meet up!

See you soon – or as I’m told they say in Germany, bis bald!
