Ireland End-to-End 2025 – Getting There..

Well this was unexpected – the sunshine, not the bloke sitting at the table.

The Irish Sea has a fearsome reputation, but she laid out a blue carpet for us today.

And the sun was still shining when we came ashore three hours later.

We appreciated the welcome as much as Midge enjoyed the smooth tarmac on our way past Wexford and Waterford. And, on a day dominated by news from the US, we noted that two road bridges were named after famous Irish Americans: Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy and her son, JFK. I wonder what he would have said about it all: “Ich bin ein Pinguin”?
Tonight finds us outside Dungarvan in a small campsite with a friendly owner and a wholesome eco vibe. Shame about the rain that set in as we ate, but it ain’t called the Emerald Isle for nothing, as a wise man told me this week (wishing you a speedy recovery Richard S).
In the morning, we drive to Mizen Head, and the pedalling begins.
